NEVER give up,
never GIVE up,
Never give UP!
Winston Churchill
Probably one of my most favourite quotations!
We've all been there haven't we. At times carrying on seems a struggle too far.
An idea you have been working on
seems to be going nowhere fast.
Life's pace seems to be quickening up
rather than slowing down.
demands on us feel too heavy.
People are demanding
more and more out of you
and you feel squeezed and pressured.
We have many reasons
for wanting to 'Give Up'
Ironically and strange though it may seem, these are the very times when you must NOT give up. It's during these times when we learn and grow the most and where ideas and solutions come thick and fast.
When under pressure or stress it can be difficult to see clearly, often referred to as not being able to see the wood for the trees......and no wonder.....the forest in it's thickest can be a dark and threatening place.
Sometimes it helps to distance yourself from a problem. Take a walk in nature, play some music, do something different and shift your focus. It's amazing how stepping away often helps clear the mind of that cotton wool feeling. Just DO whatever it takes.....whatever works for you....
Giving up means never trying again. Admitting you are beaten! And nothing will knock your self esteem more.
Take time off.....
or time out, yes....
but NEVER give up!
This may be your moment for a miracle!
AND.....if you are STILL considering quitting....read this first:
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
